Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not; for of such is the kingdom of God. ~Luke 18:16
Purpose:
To let children in poverty and war torn countries know that Jesus loves them and that through a simple gift of a filled shoe box that others care. We collect items beginning in February of each year to fill additional boxes in November. Church members and attendees may bring items for the designated month and place in totes throughout the church: example – February – bars of soap and wash clothes, March – toothbrushes, toothpaste and so forth for each month. Items being collected will be listed in both the weekly church bulletins and the church newsletter.
In October we strongly promote the shoebox ministry and collect filled shoeboxes at this time. This is also the time that we pack the items collected during the year into shoeboxes. Items are then delivered to a designated collection site.
