**UPDATE** Our campus will be closed through March 31st. See our readiness page for current updates.
Your leadership have been monitoring the latest information regarding the COVID-19 virus and have been in consistent communication throughout the past week. It has been our desire to be prayerful, deliberative and prudent regarding what our response should be to the potential complications brought about by the Coronavirus. Our heart is for not only the spiritual well-being of this body of believers, but likewise for her physical and mental well-being. Additionally, we wish to “seek the good of the city,” (Jeremiah 29:7) and be good citizens of this great community and state, respecting and honoring our neighbors and providing for their physical well-being as well. ***Bearing all of these considerations in mind, we deem it wise to continue meeting for morning worship at 10:30AM, while canceling all activities outside of the worship hour for this week (March 15th-21st.)*** We will reevaluate with a focus on the week of March 22nd-28th throughout the day on Monday and Tuesday of this week (March 15-21.)
We would also like to leave you with some instructions and encouragements for tomorrow:
—We plead with those who are sick, vulnerable, or specifically susceptible to the virus to stay home and worship with us via the livestream on Facebook or YouTube (links provided below.) Consult the CDC webpage (link below) for a list of “at risk” criteria.
—To aide in the limiting of germ transference, we will be collecting offering via two static locations in the foyer.
—We strongly discourage any physical contact that isn’t absolutely necessary during your time here on the church campus. This includes, but is perhaps not limited to: handshakes, fist bumps, hugs and elbow taps.
—We strongly discourage use of either the water fountains or the restrooms except in cases of emergency.
—We will not be providing childcare during the AM service on the 15th of March. The Grace Room will be lighted and welcoming of any parents and little ones who need to retire from the service for any reason. Ushers will be standing by in the foyer to guide any who need this room to its location.
—We will not be distributing bulletins during the AM service on the 15th of March. Please visit and consult the website, Facebook page and Remind text-messaging thread for any and all updates on church-related programming.
For consideration moving forward:
—Please continue to check website, Facebook page and your Remind text messaging thread for any important, time-sensitive updates. The situation surrounding the spread of this virus is constantly en flux and thus our response to it will need to be dynamic and constantly adaptive.
—Pray for your pastors and deacons, local and state officials, your congressional representation and president, and “all those who are in authority” (1 Timothy 2:1-2) that they might make just and wise decisions in the face of this evolving situation. Also, pray for all medical personnel, doctors, nurses, EMTs, police and other civil servants throughout the duration of this developing situation.
—We encourage you to join us in seeking to view this as an opportunity to share and to show the love of Jesus to a lost, broken and anxious world. “For God gave us not a spirit of fear, but of power and love and self-control.” (2 Timothy 1:7) We have a positive role to play in this as followers of the Good and Gracious King.
