“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink; I was a stranger and you took me in, I was naked and you clothed me; I was sick and you took care of me; I was in prison and you visited me…And the King will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for Me.'” Matthew 25:35-36, 40
What an amazing week we had for Impact 2017! I am so thankful for Dustin Jessee (Family Pastor) and the Impact team for providing us this great opportunity. From a conversation between Luke Wade (College Ministry), Dustin, and myself about reaching millennials, the Lord gave Dustin a vision that would become Impact week. We set a God-sized goal of 1,000 hours of community service, knowing that it would be a big task to achieve this amount. Dustin and his team went to work organizing opportunities for people to serve and the congregation responded. Not only did you meet the goal but you went beyond it for the glory of Jesus! 1,114 hours of service in the name of Jesus! 1,114 hours of sharing Jesus’ love! 1,114 hours of showing our community that we care! 1,114 hours of sowing the seed of the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ! Ridgeview you IMPACTed your community and beyond for the glory of Jesus! Your 1,114 hours of sweat, sacrifice, and service caused the Master to applaud and it will have a ripple effect in eternity.

Thank you for praying, giving, and serving this week! You made a difference. We are more like Jesus when we serve others! So, what now? Do we go back to life as normal? Does this experience have a life-changing effect on our lives and our church? Our prayer has been that this week will be a launch pad, a primer, a beginning of a lifestyle of Impact. Look for ways to serve others every week and every day. Don’t wait till next year during Impact Week to serve again, ask the Lord to help you live a lifestyle of serving others.
Starting in August, every 3rd Sunday night at Ridgeview will be Impact. You will have the opportunity to go serve with Engage and feed the homeless or you can join others as we go out and reconnect with our community. Our goal is to have Impact opportunities throughout the year.
A special thanks to those who prayed/gave for Impact week. You weren’t able to go with us because of schedule or health but you were just as important as you prayed, and because of your generous giving, Impact was completely funded by your gifts, and after expenses, we will be able to make a donation to several of these organizations.
From Dustin and Renea and Jen and I: we are blessed that the Lord called us to serve here at Ridgeview. We are thankful to serve alongside each of you. You are an amazing people and this week of Impact reflects the love you have for Jesus and for one another. May we together continue to Impact our community and world with Jesus’ love and for His glory!
Life is a journey, learn on the way!
‘Till next time, stay in the scripture!
